We are looking for an Art Director to lead the creative direction of films, imagery, applications, and immersive architectural experiences at Novaverse.

Your Role at Novaverse

Reporting to the CPO, the Art Director is responsible for setting and maintaining a consistently high artistic standard across all visual output at Novaverse.

You provide creative leadership across projects, working closely with the Project Director and Technical Director to ensure work is delivered to a high level of craft, quality, and aesthetic coherence. You are hands-on where needed, guide artists through clear creative direction, and support a collaborative, motivated studio environment.

What You’ll Own

Creative Direction & Quality

  • Lead art direction across films, animations, still imagery, and Unreal Engine applications.
  • Own storyboarding, colour grading, and overall visual direction of CG imagery.
  • Oversee quality control and post-production for final imagery and film deliverables.
  • Ensure a consistent aesthetic standard across all projects.

Delivery & Client Collaboration

  • Partner with the Project Director to define creative approaches for client projects
  • Present concepts, attend client meetings, and contribute to design reviews.
  • Support project planning by aligning creative ambition with schedules, budgets, and delivery milestones.
  • Act as an ambassador for Novaverse in client-facing and industry contexts.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate artists, setting clear creative standards and expectations.
  • Manage artist output and workflows, continuously raising the bar on quality and realism.
  • Identify development opportunities and support skills growth across the team.
  • Contribute to recruitment, appraisal, and performance feedback processes.

Innovation & Collaboration

  • Lead research into new tools, technologies, and creative practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the CPO to ensure all output aligns with Novaverse’s overarching artistic vision.
  • Work cross-functionally with technical and production teams to drive creative innovation.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years’ professional experience in architectural visualisation, CG, or related disciplines.
  • Strong experience leading creative direction for films, imagery, and interactive content.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
  • Outstanding post-production expertise, with advanced proficiency in After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop.
  • Experience with camera matching and tracking for still and moving imagery.
  • Broad understanding of architectural visualisation software, pipelines, and workflows.
  • Proven experience mentoring artists and leading creative teams.
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to present and defend creative decisions.
  • A proactive, organised, and solutions-oriented approach.
  • A strong artistic eye for composition, lighting, and photography, paired with technical confidence.
